On Friday July 22, M.P.A.S rolled out in style to the local Hot Rod and Classic Car event. Although we put out a general invite to all club members, the theme of that particular evening was definitely buses! A general club email made the call to meet in front of Matt's house, and clean bus after bus rolled around the corner and joined the line up on Park Ave. The look on the faces of the Hot Cars Cool Nights coordinators and participants said it all when seven buses in formation pulled in and set up amongst the various Chevy's, Ford's Studebaker's and Cadillac's. The radio station sponsoring the event interrupted their coverage of the SF Giants game to let everyone know: "Here we are down at the Hot Cars Cool Nights Event in Seaside, and let me tell you folks, we just witnessed something we have never seen in all the years of covering this event. A whole pack of super clean Volkswagen Microbuses have just pulled in, looking like they just rolled off the assembly line, and let me tell you it is indeed a special sight that you can't afford to miss! So now you have more reason than ever to come on down and enjoy the show!" At final count M.P.A.S participants: Mike and Esther in their Kombi, Matthew in his Kombi, Tim and Jessie in their Deluxe, Robert Talbott in his Double Cab, Logan Talbott in his Camper, Isaac and Annette in their Deluxe, Daniel and Debra in their Panel and M.P.A.S. newcomers Renee and Steve in their super clean 60's beetle. -Tim Kristy
