Nickname (if any): "Blackie" or "Pretty Damn Hot" The PDH name was bestowed by my mom and is based of the letters of the licence plate.
Car Features: 1600cc engine and later transmission, custom seat covers, 12-volt conversion.
Mechanical/Cosmetic changes in the works: Each year my beetle gets closer and closer to stock but it will probably never loose the interior or 6 of its volts.
Any work that you did/do yourself that you are particularly proud of: I bought my beetle as a project and in the process of getting it back on the road, have put ever thing together, taken it back apart and put it together again.
How you became interested in Vintage VWs: I saw a ghia in the seventh grade and wanted one as my first car.
Why did you pick this particular model?: It just sort of happened, I have a problem... all they need to be is vintage.
Any interesting stories/facts about this particular car: the years that I have driven this VW, nearly everything mechanical has needed to be repaired or replaced and yet it has performed well as my 200 mile a week commuter.
How being a member of MPAS improves your Vintage VW experience: I had no idea that there were so many enthusiasts in our small burg, I love the way we support each other!
